The First Third Grade Math Olympics
Ms. O'Brien, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs Murphy's third grade classes participated in the first Math Olympics at Mulready Elementary School.
The Olympiads needed to hop on one foot, frog hop or skip to get to their question. They were able to choose a question worth one, two or three chips~~~ more chips harder questions. It was great to see so many of the Mathematicians decide to go for the questions worth 3 chips! What perseverance and effort!
They had to answer questions about area, perimeter and putting fractions on a number line.
It was a great morning! Beautiful weather, math and fun!
A special thanks to Mrs. Murphy, Ms. O'Brien, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Westberg, Mrs. Patry, Mr. Donleavy and Ms. Grote for their help in making the Olympics go smoothly and with the students! It wouldn't have worked without you!
